EXEMPLARS
I am a strong leader in initiating and maintaining good working relationships, always being respectful in communication, and collaboration. I am not strong in delegation and negotiation in this new role, however, I am sure that I will gain knowledge and strength in this area as time continues.
The geriatric service learning project utilized this essential by working with other organizations to provide care and intervention for the elderly patient who may experience depression and provide education for both the patient and the caregiver.
The pediatric service learning project discussed the topic of bullying. Our group developed a poster and discussed bullying with a group of boy scouts. We utilized organizations to look at the topic of bullying on a system perspective and used our leadership ability to provide alternatives for boys who may experience bullying.
The letter to the policymaker discussed a bill that would require pharmacies to provide the lowest price of medications to a patient who asks, with either utilizing their insurance or not. This met this essential by utilizing my leadership and knowledge to influence policymakers to make a positive change that can directly affect the patient.
This reflection met this essential by discussing the impact on myself by providing this learning opportunity to young boys who experience bullying. by using our relationships in class and with outside entities, we were able to develop a working relationship that directly impacted a group that may not have had this direct discussion otherwise.
