EXEMPLARS

Overall, I am weakest in this area as I am not strong in understanding and translating how politics impacts practice. However, I feel that I am strong in locating said policies that impact APRN practice and understand how insurance and economics impact patient care.

This case study discussed the film "Contagion". This film discussed the process of pandemic related disease spread. In the paper, I met this essential by discussing primary preventative options for patients who present with an unknown illness. I also discussed how the world health organization identifies and attempts to place policies that can help with prevention of disease spread.

This letter advocated for policy change that allowed patients to find out the least expensive option for their medications through their pharmacy. This is important as many patients in primary care are on a limited income and require close budgeting to pay for their medications. This met this essential because it advocated for a change that directly impacts that patient and possible prescribing practices of the primary care provider.

This documentary review discussed "The Bleeding Edge". This documentary discussed how current medical devices are approved for market by the FDA. This was important to understand and could potentially impact how devices are approved in the future. The met the essential by discussing potential policy changes that may happen in the future.

This group presentation discussed a potential healthcare threat that many providers do not think about. This project discussed health promotion, as well as the economic impacts of disease on patients.
