EXEMPLARS
I feel that through the knowledge I have gained through this program, I am strong in applying the tools I have learned and recognizing quality and safety measures needed to provide excellent care. I have room to grow in analyzing new measures and having early recognition of new processes that may impact patient safety. I plan to get stronger by signing up for email updates of new processes from reputable websites and journals to stay up to date.
Marfan Syndrome
This paper met this essential by discussing the current methods of treatment for a patient diagnosed with Marfan syndrome and how the patient is managed on a life long basis. This paper discussed high-quality care and education necessary to care for a patient with this disease process.
This group project discussed how a non-numeric pain scale can be an effective method for assessing and treating post-op surgical pain. We developed a new method for assessing pain, provided education or how to implement this new method, a new tool to assess the pain as well as how to measure its efficacy.
Becoming an adult is hard.
When it comes time for teenagers to transition into adulthood, the transition can be difficult. This group projects aimed to be a one-stop location for teenagers entering the college years. This website seeks to provide education, resources, and how-to guides to give help and advice. This website also sought to provide online web-chat conferencing with older adults and counselors. This project met this essential by looking to improve patient care by meeting patients where they are at, in a vastly growing technological era.
A world health threat
This group project discussed Smallpox and how even though this disease is considered eradicated, it is important to know how to identify and treat this disease if this becomes a world health biological warfare threat. We developed a was to identify this disease and provide quality measures in terms of identifying patients affected by this disease.
